introductions and movies (vhope sequel to snap)
taehyung/hoseok, 5000+ words,

Taehyung doesn't know what to think of Hoseok when they first meet.

"Taehyung, Hoseok. Hoseok, Taehyung." Yoongi claps his hands down on both their shoulders, Taehyung on his right and Hoseok on his left.

Taehyung wishes that Yoongi hadn't done that, because he's never been good at straightforward introductions like those. Everyone he's ever met and stayed close friends with has had a strange first encounter with him. With Yoongi he had accidentally tripped and pushed him into the emergency shower in the chemistry lab. While it was on. (Taehyung had been in charge of carrying out the weekly shower checkups.) With Jimin he had spilled a beaker of sulphuric acid on his phone. He doesn't remember how he became "super best friends" with Jeongguk since they've been friends since childhood, but he has a vague memory of being introduced to each other by their mothers at Jeongguk's third birthday party and accidentally shoving Jeongguk face first into his own cake. Jeongguk had cried for an hour straight. Now that he looks back on it, he doesn't really know why he has friends after those incidents, but hey at least that means he doesn't have to spend his years in college alone.

"Earth to Taehyung. Do you copy?" Yoongi says, voice completely deadpan. Taehyung blinks back to reality. He hadn't even realized he had spaced out.

Hoseok turns to Taehyung and smiles. "Nice to meet you! Sorry for Yoongi hyung's stupid introduction. Makes everything super awkward right?"

Taehyung doesn't know what to do, so he smiles back. He does however take note of the fact that Hoseok had called Yoongi "hyung", meaning that he was at least a year younger than Yoongi was. Yoongi swats Hoseok on the head and calls him an ungrateful brat.

"Here I am trying to help you make friends and this is how you repay me? By calling me stupid?" Yoongi pins Hoseok around the neck and ruffles his hair.

"Don't lie to me with your 'friend' garbage. You're sick of me dragging you to the dance studio right?" Hoseok yelps. He flails around wildly as he tries to fend off Yoongi's hands.

Taehyung watches them for a bit before speaking up. "I don't mind going to the dance studio with you in Yoongi hyung's place. No one wants him around anyway."

Hoseok looks up at him and beams. "Really? Would you?" He's about to say something else but is cut off by Yoongi, who reaches forward and grabs Taehyung's arm. He starts ruffling Taehyung's hair as well, complaining about "the ungrateful little shits he has to put up with."

Taehyung doesn't know what he's doing, but he actually shows up at the dance studio the next day. He doesn't expect Hoseok to be there or anything, and if he has to he can just say he came to see Jimin or something. He then realises that there's no real reason for him to need an excuse. Of course as luck would have it, Hoseok is actually there. Hoseok looks like he's doing stretches of some sort and hasn't spotted Taehyung yet.

"Boo." Taehyung says. Hoseok turns around to look at him. He looks surprised, but in a good way. Taehyung figures Hoseok had thought he was just joking to pick on Yoongi.

"You actually came?" Hoseok asks.

"I meant what I said about no one wanting Yoongi hyung around."

Hoseok laughs. It's loud and his face scrunches up, but not in a bad way.

Taehyung sits on the floor, just close enough to be able to talk to Hoseok but far enough that there's enough space for him to dance. Taehyung hopes he hasn't done anything wrong by coming, but he doesn't think Hoseok's the kind of guy that would take Taehyung's going to see him as being overeager. He isn't trying to be, he doesn't know why he's there to be honest but Hoseok seems like an okay guy.

"I have a friend that dances. His name's Jimin." Taehyung says.

Hoseok is still smiling. "I know Jimin! We practice together sometimes."

Taehyung pauses for a bit. "What do you think of him?"

Hoseok chuckles a bit. "Brat."

Taehyung resists the urge to smile. He thinks so too.

Taehyung doesn't say much after that. Hoseok is too busy trying to perfect a move for a dance he's working on to strike up conversation, but Taehyung is fine with that. Although he does feel a bit awkward, he ignores the feeling and pulls a book out of his bag. It's kind of nice actually, a lot nicer than reading cooped up in his dorm by himself. Taehyung doesn't have a room-mate, although he had been expecting one. At the last minute his room-mate had pulled out and decided to live with his parents while still attending the college, and he was stuck by himself in a room for two. Not that he minded at all, in fact he was grateful for the extra space for a smaller fee. Jimin ended up sleeping over more than enough times to make it feel like he had a room-mate.

Hoseok and Taehyung end up walking back to the dorms together. Hoseok looks over to Taehyung and is about to say something, but at that moment a girl on her phone walks towards them and she's speaking loud enough for Taehyung to hear her.

"Have you watched Pacific Rim yet? I heard it was good."  the girl says. She bumps into Hoseok, too preoccupied with her phone to pay attention and mumbles a quick apology.

"She should watch where she's going." Taehyung says after she's out of earshot. Hoseok laughs good-naturedly.

"I know her so it's ok. She never pays attention when she's on her phone. I bet you that's her boyfriend she's talking to." Hoseok says.

Taehyung wonders absent-mindedly how many people Hoseok is friends with. "I have yet to watch that movie as well actually."

Taehyung continues to walk in silence. The lack of response from Hoseok causes him to look up and to the left, only to be met with a look of shock all across Hoseok's face.

"You've never watched Pacific Rim?" he sounds disbelieving. Taehyung nods his head.

"I haven't."

"Tomorrow then." Hoseok says. "Are you free tomorrow?"

Taehyung is completely lost. "My classes end at three tomorrow?" Hoseok claps his hands together.

"Good. You, me and Pacific Rim tomorrow at 4. I'm coming over ok?"

"Um...why not you and Yoongi hyung's room?"

"We don't have have a T.V. Wait do you have a T.V?"

"I have a desktop?"

"Perfect. See you at 4." Hoseok then turns the corner and walks into his room. Taehyung hadn't realised they had made it to the dorms. He hears Hoseok shout a greeting at Yoongi from behind the door, and what sounds like something breaking. Taehyung also hadn't realized he passed his room walking with Hoseok. He tries not to think about how that makes him look like he was walking Hoseok to his room and ends up tripping over a potted plant in the hallway.

Hoseok actually does come over the next day with a pirated copy of Pacific Rim, a few other movies and a few snacks. They watch the movie in silence for the most part, the silence only being broken by Hoseok's occasional bursts of laughter and Taehyung's questions about the movie. As soon as the movie's finished, Hoseok pauses the ending credits and turns to Taehyung. His face reminds Taehyung of an excited puppy.

"What did you think?" Hoseok asks.

"It was...ok..." Taehyung says. Hoseok punches him in the shoulder.

Taehyung winces and rubs at his arm. "Dude what."

"You're lying aren't you? There's no way this movie is just 'ok'." Hoseok says.

Taehyung tries his hardest to fight off the smile growing on his face. He actually was lying. Hoseok notices his mouth twitching and starts to laugh.

"You lying piece of sh-" Hoseok starts. And then he pauses and covers his mouth with his hand.

Taehyung raises an eyebrow in question at him.

Hoseok starts laughing again. "I'm trying put an end to my sailor mouth. I made a bet with Yoongi hyung and like hell I'm giving him money."

Taehyung smiles. "You mean like heck?"

Hoseok stares at Taehyung and then starts laughing again. "You're a brat like Jimin."

Taehyung pretends to be offended and is about to respond when Hoseok's phone rings in his pocket.

Hoseok pulls it out and answers. Taehyung sits and watches as Hoseok has a short conversation with someone that doesn't sound very familiar. When he puts the phone away, he sighs.

"I have no idea who that was." Hoseok says. Taehyung looks at him like he's grown two heads.

"Why'd you pick up then?" he asks. Hoseok shrugs.

"They're in my group for a project but I forgot their name...and what they look like."

"You really do know a lot of people..." Taehyung mumbles, more to himself than anything. He didn't think Hoseok had heard him.

"It's more like everyone knows me? I have no idea why? It might be because of my Youtube channel but I'm not sure." Hoseok says simply.

"Youtube channel?" Taehyung is intrigued. Hoseok waves it off.

"We're talking too much now. I'm here to watch movies on something that isn't my shitty laptop. I'll text you the channel or something later." Hoseok picks up Taehyung's phone from off of his desk and types his number in. Taehyung watches him do it.

"You cursed. I won't tell Yoongi though, don't worry." Taehyung says.

"I like you more than Yoongi." Hoseok responds smiling, without looking up from the phone.

"Who doesn't?"

Taehyung later discovers that Hoseok is something of a small internet sensation named "J-Hope" on Youtube because of his dance covers. He's scrolling through the channel when Jimin invites himself into Taehyung's dorm unannounced. He spots Taehyung, and more importantly, Taehyung's computer screen.

"Is that Hoseok? That's a bit stalkery don't you think?" Jimin tries his best to hide the amusement from his voice.

"Stalkery isn't a word. If you're going to make fun of me for doing something completely normal, at least have the decency to do it with proper grammar."

Jimin pouts and flops down onto the extra bed, sighing. Taehyung ignores him and continues to look through Hoseok's Youtube channel.

"J-Hope's a pretty odd name don't you think?" Taehyung wonders out loud. He's still scrolling. Jimin scoffs.

"The fuck bro? I'm not here to talk about your crush, I'm here to talk about mine."

"I don't have a crush on him. Wait. What." Taehyung looks over at Jimin. Jimin stares up at the ceiling.

"You know that guy you're always hanging out with?"

"Yoongi hyung?"

Jimin's face colours a bit. "That's his name?"

"No." Taehyung says. "No. No I won't allow it. No."

Jimin throws a pillow at Taehyung. "Introduce us or something please? You're a horrible friend."

"And you're a brat. Even though I'm younger than you."

Taehyung is buried in pillows by the time Jimin is done with him. Jimin continues to complain about Taehyung being an unhelpful friend, but Taehyung zones him out in favour of pondering what Jimin had said: "I'm not here to talk about your crush." Taehyung scowls. He doesn't have a crush. Jimin's just being ridiculous like usual.

As the weeks pass, Hoseok and Taehyung start to make a habit of watching movies on the weekends or during their free time. They discovered their mutual love for action comedy/martial arts movies somewhere along the line and ended up spending hours together in Taehyung's room huddled around his computer with a stack of movies and snacks. Whenever they're not together watching movies, they text back and forth about movies and pretty much everything else. Taehyung thinks that Hoseok is probably the most interesting person he's ever met. Or probably the most energetic. Taehyung likes that the only emoticon Hosoek ever texts with is"@-@", and responds with a large amount of emoticons himself just because.

"You've been texting a lot recently." Yoongi says one day. They're walking back to the dorms together having finished up classes for the day. Taehyung tries his best to ignore the way Yoongi is smiling at him like he knows something.

"If you're talking about Hoseok hyung, then yes, I do text him a lot. That's what friends do, it's why I don't text you hyung. And it's not even suddenly...you ask me who I'm texting almost every time you see me with my phone. Are you jealous?" Taehyung replies.

Yoongi glares at him. "I really hate talking to you sometimes."

"I love you too." Taehyung responds smiling and holding out his arms. Yoongi backs away from him like he has a disease.

Taehyung walks after him, arms open and laughing. Yoongi yells and cringes as Taehyung hugs him.

"You didn't even try to get away hyung, are you really that lazy?"

"Get off of me please." Yoongi says. Taehyung lets him go, still laughing, and they continue to walk together in relative silence towards the dorms. Yoongi mentions something about a photography project and Taehyung modelling for him. Taehyung declines and suggests using Hoseok instead, and at that moment a plan begins to form in his head. As soon as Taehyung get's to his dorm he calls Hoseok.

"Hyung." he says as soon as he hears Hoseok pick up. "Hyung are you going to the dance studio tomorrow?"

"This is the first time you've called me since we've met and you don't even say hello?" Hoseok responds. Taehyung ignores him and continues.

"Hyung if you were planning on going to the dance studio tomorrow, don't ok? Come over and watch a movie with me instead. Where are you?"

It takes Hoseok awhile to respond but when he does he sounds a bit confused. "Are you ok? I don't think you've ever asked to watch movies first before. What's up? Also, I'm leaving the dance studio now."

"Alright cool, don't go back to your room. Go straight to mine instead." Taehyung says.

"What? Why?"

Taehyung is about to explain just exactly what he has in mind when Jimin walks through the door and flops down onto Taehyung's bed. Taehyung curses in his head.

"I'll explain when you get here." Taehyung whispers into the phone and closes it. Jimin looks at him suspiciously, but mostly amused.

"Oh? Something I shouldn't be hearing?" he laughs. Taehyung glares at him but ignores it. "Are you going to the dance studio tomorrow?"

Jimin looks puzzled. "Yeah, why? Did you want to come with me or something?"

Taehyung shakes his head. "No I didn't. I was just trying to cleverly steer the conversation away from your misguided assumptions about my non-existent love life. Also you're not sleeping over today." Whenever Jimin sleeps over at Taehyung's room, the two end up staying up all night playing video games. If he gets no sleep, Jimin he won't bother going to the dance studio, effectively ruining Taehyung's plan.

"Why not?" Jimin asks. He looks slightly offended but Taehyung knows he's not. The reason Taehyung has to give to prevent Jimin from wanting to stay over is the issue. Taehyung hates to do this, he really does, but this is all for Jimin's own good in the end.

"Because Hoseok hyung is coming over." He averts his eyes and pushes his index fingers together to play up the shy boy in love act. Jimin's eyebrow's shoot up into his hairline. He smirks. "Wow Taehyung. That's going a bit fast don't you think?"

"You didn't even know Yoongi hyung's name and you already decided you had a crush on him. You are the last person I want to hear talking about going fast."

Jimin raises his arms in defeat. "Fine, fine I'm gone. Use protection." With that, Jimin leaves the room. Nearly ten seconds after Hoseok walks in. He's holding a small bag and his computer. He's sweaty, so Taehyung assumes that he actually did listen to him and came straight from the studio.

"Why'd you hangup so suddenly? Is everything ok? Why was Jimin smirking at me?" Hoseok says.

"Hypocrite much? You didn't even say hello."

"Taehyung."

"Jimin has a crush on Yoongi hyung so I'm helping him out. Yoongi hyung was going to ask you to help him with a photography project, but I don't want you at the dance studio tomorrow because I think there's a chance that he'll see Jimin and ask him instead."

Hoseok's face shifts from one of confusion to his usual excited smile. "You're gonna play matchmaker or something?"

Taehyung smiles. "The last time Jimin had a crush on someone he texted me every night for hours and didn't even do anything about it. I'm not letting that happen again. Now, which movies did you bring."

Hoseok's face goes blank. "Oh right. Movies. I completely forgot. Oh wait no I didn't, it's just that I couldn't actually go to my room to get any."

Taehyung sighs. "Well whatever. Want to play some video games? I can torrent a few movies while we play."

Hoseok nods but pauses. "Can I shower first? I smell like like shit."

"If this keeps up I'll start betting on your inability to stop swearing as well y'know."

The two play video games for a good portion of the night and Taehyung figures they've woken up the entire dorm with their laughter and shouting, but he doesn't really care. They watch movies until the sun starts to come up.  Hoseok gets a phone call from Yoongi at around six in the morning, just as he's about to go to sleep. Taehyung is busy trying to keep his eyes open watching some stupid romantic comedy he downloaded by accident. He's close to falling asleep when he hears Hoseok say "I'm with Taehyung." Taehyung blinks himself awake to catch the rest of the conversation, but all he hears is Hoseok laughing.

"Hyung what are you laughing at?" Taehyung asks, but it comes out as a garbled mess due to the fact that he hasn't slept in hours. Hoseok hangs up the phone and turns to him.

"Go to sleep Taetae, you look like you're dying." Hoseok responds.

"Was it Yoongi? What'd he ask?" Taehyung continues. He yawns. Hoseok ignores him and crawls into the extra bed.

"Nothing important. Now sleep." Taehyung doesn't say anything after that and just decides to go with it. When he wakes up Hoseok is still there, fast asleep.

The next time they meet up, at a small on campus cafe, Taehyung asks Hoseok how his plan has been going.

"Pretty well I think. Yoongi hyung spent the entire night yesterday texting him. Good job." Hoseok gives him a thumbs up. Taehyung tries to not think about how that sounds a lot like his and Hoseok's current relationship, but whatever. Friends text each other. Jimin and Yoongi were definitely not leaning towards becoming friends.

"How long do you think it'll take them to get together?" Hoseok asks. Taehyung shrugs.

"I guess it depends on whether or not Yoongi is interested. Which he more than likely is. I can't really tell." Hoseok looks like he's seriously thinking over Taehyung's thoughts on the "Yoonmin Love 4evr"  plan (Taehyung refers to the entire ordeal as that in their text messages. Hoseok's shortened it to the "YM<34EVR" for typing convenience. Taehyung thinks it looks stupid, not that he thinks his name is particularly special either.) but then he speaks up and asks a question instead.

"Oh by the way, I think I left my laptop charger in your room. Have you seen it?" Taehyung hasn't seen it. It doesn't hurt to check regardless.

"Want to come over and look?" Taehyung asks.

It takes Hoseok two minutes to look around the dorm before discovering the charger underneath the spare bed in Taehyung's room.

"VICTORY!" Hoseok shouts. He does this weird victory dance that looks a lot more like someone having a seizure in mid air.

"Since you're here, want to watch some movies? Or are you busy?" Taehyung says when Hoseok's packed up his charger in his bag and turns to leave.

"Hmm...I'm a bit busy...I haven't uploaded a dance cover in a while you know?"

"Oh. Ok then." Taehyung says. He is most definitely not disappointed. Hoseok laughs at him.

"You don't have to look so disappointed." Hoseok says as he walks out into the hallway.

"I'm not disappointed." Taehyung says following after him. Hoseok laughs again. And then he does something completely unexpected. Or at least Taehyung hadn't expected it. Hoseok casually leans forward and places his forehead on Taehyung's own. Their noses brush slightly when Hoseok nuzzles Taehyung's forehead with his own, casually like he had just given him a high five or a fist bump and not.. the other thing. Hoseok straightens up and smiles at him. "Don't miss me too much."
Then he turns and leaves. Taehyung stands there for some time, and then turns around to head back to his room and trips over a plotted plant in the hall.

Taehyung figures that drastic times call for drastic measures. So he sends a text. The response comes later when he's lying in bed about to go to sleep.

yo

oh, hyung! you finally have enough time in college to talk to me?

i didn't come here for your sass jeongguk

you don't come to me for anything apparently.

...

:-)

..........

what's up anyways?

how do you tell if you like someone?

you like someone hyung? you of all people? wow, what a time to be alive.

i don't. but i'm asking how you would know

have you tried wikihow?

jeongguk

"How To Tell if You Genuinely Like Someone."

jeongguk

"How To Tell if You Like Someone or If You're Just Lonely."

jeon jeongguk

i assume that you would know you have a crush on someone when you're nervous around them and want to be with them a lot

oh? when did you get so experienced? do you like someone?

i don't. i'm still on wikihow.

...

Taehyung realises that talking to Jeongguk about Hoseok is going to get him absolutely no where. Does he even really need to talk to anyone about Hoseok? He doesn't like him like that or have a crush on him or anything, so he doesn't feel the need to speak to anyone. That doesn't really feel like the right answer to him, but he pushes that feeling away. It's not like he doesn't like Hoseok or anything, he's actually one of Taehyung's favourite people. He just doesn't know if he could say that he likes him or anything. It's not like he's ever thought about, kissing him or something. The thought makes him blush and he ends up staring blankly at his phone trying not to think about kissing Hoseok. It takes him another two hours to fall asleep.

"Jimin won't stop talking to me about Yoongi hyung." Taehyung says during one of their movie days. This is about a week after the whole photography project plan. Taehyung pauses the movie and continues speaking. "Apparently my photography plan was something of a success."

"You said Jimin had a crush on him didn't you? When you have a crush on someone you get nervous around them and think about them a lot. You should've expected Jimin never shutting up."

Taehyung eyes Hoseok suspiciously.

"Have you been on wikihow recently?"

"No? What?" Hoseok looks confused.

"Don't worry about it then." Hoseok still has a confused expression on his face, so Taehyung takes a few chips out of the bag he's holding and throws them at him.

Hoseok laughs as they hit him and is about to retaliate when Taehyung reaches across him and grabs at the other chip bag next to Hoseok.

"Don't mess up my room." Taehyung warns. Hoseok ignores him and grabs for the bag.

"I'm trying to retaliate and you're not helping me." he says. Taehyung holds the bag out of arms reach  above his head and Hoseok just barely manages to take it.

"I wonder why that is?" Taehyung sneers back.

"You're even worse than Jimin."

"Why are we talking about Jimin?" Taehyung scrunches up his face in disgust.

"We were talking about him earlier." Hoseok lunges forward for the chip bag. He crashes into Taehyung and ends up pushing him back onto the bed. Taehyung, in the confusion, falls back and hits his head on the wall.  He sees stars for about a minute before his head clears.

"Are you all right? You spilled the chips." Hoseok says when he notices Taehyung blink his eyes back into focus.

"I think I just cracked my skull open because of you, and you're worried about the chips."

"I was worried about you, but you seem fine to me." Hoseok responds. "Should I get ice?"

"No, I think I'll be ok." It is only then that Taehyung realises that Hoseok is leaning over him, almost sitting on him. He can feel his face heating up and he hopes that Hoseok doesn't notice. His hopes are in vain. Hoseok notices.

"Are you sure you'll be fine? Your face is turning red, is that a bad sign?" Hoseok asks and Taehyung wonders if he's messing with him or if there is someone that exists that is really that clueless. Taehyung clears his throat.

"Please get off of me." he mumbles. Hoseok at least has the decency to look embarrassed.

"Sorry. I was too busy being worried about the chips to realise that I was practically sitting on top of you." Hoseok says as he shuffles over.

"You're not allowed in my room anymore. Only people that care about me are allowed." Taehyung scowls.

"Then why is Jimin allowed?"

"Why do you keep bringing up Jimin?"

"Are you jealous?" Hoseok asks, smiling.

"Why would I be jealous? What reason would I ever have to be jealous of Jimin? The thought alone of Yoongi hyung having any type of interest in me like he does Jimin makes me feel like lying down in the middle of a busy street."

Hoseok laughs. "I'm sure if he heard you say that he'd stop talking to you for about a month."

Taehyung shrugs. "That's not necessarily a bad thing." Hoseok is smiling, but after a short pause his face is serious.

"I want you to be jealous though, since I like you."

Taehyung's eyes widen as he looks at Hoseok, who's looking right back at him. Suddenly it feels as awkward as the first day they met when Yoongi had introduced them. Hoseok had broken the ice immediately (by insulting Yoongi) and everything had run smoothly from there. Taehyung figures Hoseok won't be saving him from his own awkwardness this time. The silence that follows Hoseok's confession makes Taehyung feel more nervous with each passing second. How could this have happened? he wonders. Was it only him that had thought that they were just friends? Yoongi and Jimin had made enough jokes for him to at least entertain the idea of being more than a friend with Hoseok but...

Does he even like Hoseok like that? Maybe? He doesn't really know. He's never really liked anyone, with the exception of this one girl in high school that he had attempted to ask out via text message. That hadn't gone very well. Sure he likes Hoseok. Except that he's not sure. Taehyung wonders if he can quickly check wikihow or something for some kind of help without Hoseok noticing but that idea is quickly thrown aside when Hoseok gets up and stretches.

"Well I've said what I wanted to say, so I guess I'll be going now." Hoseok turns to leave. Taehyung just barely registers what Hoseok is saying before he gets up as well. For some reason, Hoseok leaving right now is the last thing he wants.

"No." Taehyung says. "No wait don't leave. I like you. I think? I think I like you? Don't leave."

Hoseok turns around to face him and smiles. "You don't." He doesn't sound bitter about it. In fact, the way he had said it sounds like he had just stated a simple fact.  Taehyung doesn't respond. With that, Hoseok turns and leaves.

The movie is still paused. Taehyung doesn't feel like watching the rest.

Taehyung doesn't know what to do when he sees Hoseok the next morning. Hoseok is walking with Yoongi towards a small on campus cafe. Taehyung pretends not to see Hoseok waving him over and turns in the other direction, heading towards his class. Taehyung continues to ignore Hoseok for the rest of the week, turning in the opposite direction whenever he sees Hoseok. He even goes as far as walking with headphones in just in case Hoseok calls out to him. Taehyung figures Yoongi notices that something's up, but Yoongi's always been the type of person to stay out of issues or drama that seem like they'll require him to give some kind of emotional support, so he stays quiet.

"Not ditching me for Hoseok hyung today I see." Jimin says. He's doing stretches. Taehyung resists the urge to kick him.

"Please don't make fun of me. Hoseok hyung told me he liked me. What do I do?" Taehyung assumes that it's the urgency and slight desperation in his voice that stops Jimin from making any kind of joke.

"Wait so you're telling me that you don't actually...like Hoseok hyung as more than a friend?" Jimin actually has the nerve to look a bit shocked. Taehyung sighs.

"Do you listen when I speak to you or do you just keep me around to avoid looking lonely." Taehyung deadpans. Jimin rolls his eyes.

"That reminds me," he says suddenly,"I haven't been able to reach you on your phone recently."

Taehyung shrugs. "The battery's dead and I can't find my charger."

"Yeah. That's probably because I have it." Jimin goes over to his bag and pulls the charger out. He hands it to Taehyung. Taehyung looks at the charger in his hands.

"Oh."

"Also, Hoseok hyung texted me earlier. You're avoiding him aren't you."

Taehyung fiddles with the charger in his hands. "My phone was dead..."

"Taehyung."

"College sure does keep one busy..."

"Taehyung."

Taehyung sighs again. "What do I do."

Jimin pretends to think before giving an answer. "You could charge your phone first."

"You're not really helping me out right now."

"What is there to help you with? Someone likes you and your first action is to avoid them for a week?" Jimin folds his arms. Taehyung winces slightly. It seems a bit harsher when Jimin puts it like that.

"You were nicer before you met Yoongi hyung." Taehyung pouts.

Jimin smiles. "You're right. So what are you going to do, ignore him forever?"

"I don't know if I have a crush on him or not. How would I know?" Taehyung asks.
"I thought it was obvious that you did.You two are always together." Jimin says. "Don't be ridiculous and just call him or something."

"I hang out with you too." Taehyung mumbles. "Yeah but you've probably never fantasized about kissing me."

"I've never fantasized about kissing Hoseok hyung." Taehyung sputters. He can feel his face turning red. Jimin gives him a look that shows him he's not buying it.

Jimin forces Taehyung to text Hoseok and apologize. Taehyung ignores Jimin and instead sends a short message.

want to watch a movie?

sure. now?

Taehyung blinks at his phone in surprise. He hadn't been expecting a response, and in the event that he had gotten one, he wasn't expecting it to be positive. He feels a bit nervous when he responds.

yeah. gimme a sec though i'm heading over to my dorm now.

whenever youre ready then.

"Well then. I guess I'll just be leaving now." Taehyung says. Jimin frowns.

"Where are you going?"

"To go meet Hoseok hyung."

"Really? Without you I'll look lonely." Taehyung shrugs.

"Go find Yoongi hyung or something, I'm sure he'll want to hang out with you."

Jimin doesn't even bat an eyelash. "Don't fuck up with hyung or I'll kick your ass Kim Taehyung."

Taehyung waves him off and leaves.

Hoseok is already there by the time Taehyung gets back. He's sitting down on the floor in front of Taehyung's room playing a game on his phone. Taehyung waves in greeting when Hoseok looks up at him and then goes to open the door.

"So, what are we watching today?" Hoseok asks as soon as he steps through the door.

"We're not watching anything." Taehyung says simply. "I actually invited you over...to apologize."

"Apologize? For what?"

"You know, avoiding you for a week. Giving you a shitty response to your confession. That stuff." Taehyung says.

Hoseok pockets his phone and shrugs. "You don't need to apologize. I wasn't really expecting you to like me."

"That's where you're wrong. I do like you, I just chickened out I guess." Taehyung says sheepishly. Hoseok raises an eyebrow.

"You don't have to lie to make me feel better Taehyung." Hoseok says.

"I'm not lying."

"I don't believe that."

Taehyung frowns. He hadn't really been expecting Hoseok to just shut him down like that.

"Hyung I like you."

Hoseok shrugs again. "Of course you do, we're friends aren't we?" Taehyung resists the urge to strangle him.

"Do you want me to prove it to you? I can prove it to you."

Hoseok laughs. "Prove it to me? What is there to-" Taehyung doesn't let Hoseok finish before he's stepping forward and kissing Hoseok. It doesn't really last more than two seconds but Taehyung figures it'll get the point across. Hoseok's face is pink but he crosses his arms and makes a face.

"Would I kiss you if I didn't like you hyung?"

"Sure, I mean you just did." Taehyung makes an exasperated noise and leans forward to kiss him again. This time it's longer. When Taehyung pulls back Hoseok is smiling.

"I'm not really convinced." he says. Taehyung punches him in the arm.

"I hate you so much."

"You just kissed me twice trying to prove otherwise." Hoseok is laughing at this point. Taehyung doesn't even try to restrain himself from putting his hands around Hoseok's neck. Hoseok grabs onto Taehyung's arms and pulls him into a hug.

"Do you want to know how you can convince me?" Hoseok asks softly. Taehyung feels his face heat up. He can feel Hoseok shaking as he laughs. "What are you turning red for? I was going to ask you to watch a movie with me."

Taehyung covers his face with his hands. "I hate you so much."

Hoseok is still laughing. "You don't."

And he's right, Taehyung really doesn't. In fact, Taehyung's pretty sure that what he's feeling is something close to being in love.
