part i.
Character name: Remy LeBeau / Gambit.
Fandom: X-Men / Marvel 616 / This means comics-verse!
Species (vampire, werewolf, what have you): Human mutant.
Character powers: Bio-kinetic energy manipulation and all its add-ons; uncontrollable altered "Death persona" state.
part ii.
1.) Is it acceptable for your character to be mind-controlled or persuaded? How susceptible are they to mind control, hypnotism, or suggestion? No - Remy's power gives him a kind of psychic "static" field that keeps people out of his head. It IS possible to break in, but he either has to be already compromised or someone has to be really aggro about it (or get him when he already has it down), but it's complicated, and so I'd need special plotting for that to happen. He could be fooled with the other two but it'd be difficult, as he's been around the block a few times, so to speak.
2.) Is it acceptable for your character to have their mind read? Does this include traumatic memories? What is their mind like (disturbing, orderly, joyful, surprisingly empty, etc.)? If the character has psychic walls or preventative measures against psychic interference, please explain. See above - probably not going to happen without a lot of outside plotting.
3.) Are thoughts mentioned in narration acceptable for a telepath to pick up? Nope.
4.) What about emotions, in the case of an empath? What sort of general emotional reading would such a character receive from yours? That's fine, if it's just a general impression - Remy can be alternatively really easy to read and really guarded, but when he's not guarded it's... yeah, easy, the X-Men tend to solve personal problems by YELLING, so. However, he can also be extremely deceptive when he wants to be, and is an excellent liar and actor, and has routinely gotten away with fooling even extremely powerful psychics - it really depends on the situation and what you want to lift. When in doubt, ask me? :D
5.) Are there any aspects of your character's mind, emotions, or memories you would like to be picked up, mentioned, or used in character? Conversely, is there anything that should not be noticed, or at least never mentioned? Nothing springs to mind that I desperately want out, but seeing as he's really difficult to break into mind-wise, I don't know what possibly COULD get out. So... ask me first?
part iii.
1.) Physically speaking, what stands out about your character? Imposing size? Physical scarring? Tattoos? Remy is a pretty big guy, in good shape, and is considered ~super hot~ since I guess that's an important thing for Marvel to note, but the most significant physical thing would be his eyes, which are black and red (black sclera, which means the entirety of the eyeball itself is black where a normal person's is white) and red irises. Artists and inkers like to draw his eyes a whole host of crazy ways, but that's what they're supposed to look like. Sometimes, depending on how he's using his powers, the irises glow. Yay.
2.) Is your character immune to any of the following: poisons, chemical agents, telekinetic influence, radiation, or types of illnesses? As a mutant, Remy is immune to diseases and other illnesses that impact DNA. ... At least, that is the best I can figure it; the laundry list of things mutants are supposedly immune from seem to have that in common. Mutants tend not to get sick beyond someone catching a cold every so often, but then, they also have weaknesses against a lot of really insane laboratory cooked up plagues that skip humans and target them.
3.) Is your character physiologically different from a human in any way? This can include their blood, skin, hair, et cetera being made up of something unusual or simply differing in construction and durability. Yes, Remy is a mutant, the next evolutionary step past "basic" humanity. He has ~the X gene~ and has fancy powers and immunities.
4.) Are you amenable to having your character be harmed in any way? How far are you comfortable with injury to you character going? Does this include being fed on by vampires, willingly or unwillingly? Yeah, sure, if he gets into a fight or does something dumb, go for it. I don't want him to die due to the rules of the game, but he can get really screwed up as the situation calls for it. Vampire stuff, just contact me if you want to do something.
5.) Is it acceptable for other characters with abilities of shapeshifting or disguise to imitate your character? Does this include ability mimicry? If the plot calls for it, sure, though be warned this is like A MAJOR RAGE TRIGGER considering his history with shapeshifters.
part iv.
1.) Can your character's presence or aura be noticed by other characters, and how would it look/feel to them? How would it manifest to a character with no supernatural abilities, if at all? Sure. He's powerful, and a lot of that power is uncontrolled, though he's actively suppressing it. There's a major, icky darkness clinging to him, though it's difficult to see.
2.) Can your character be affected by magic spells and curses? Yep! He has no magic mojo, though he does have experience, and can probably get a work-around going faster than the average bear.
3.) Can your character be affected by sin and corruption, and be tempted toward expressing their darker urges (of whatever flavor)? Absolutely. This is one of his major pitfalls.
4.) What sort of sins is the character prone toward, and how might they best be tempted, if you are interested in such an event? Anger/rage/violence is the big one. He's been tempted and tempted and TORTURED with the lust one and he held through, so yeah, that's not happening - his temper, however, is an unstable one. I'd say just piss him off and enable the hell out of him, or find some of his buttons and go at 'em with a sledgehammer. Need help working that out? Just contact me.
5.) Are you amenable to the character receiving prophetic visions, including as part of a plot? Sure!
part v.
1.) Is canon-puncturing or fourth-walling acceptable? We encourage people to tread extremely lightly with allowing their character to learn they are fictional. No.
2.) Is threadjacking allowed? Under what circumstances? Sure, if you feel like it/it's funny/it's necessary. Just try not to obliterate my inbox with stuff my character can't read or participate in? Otherwise totes cool.
3.) Is it acceptable for canonmates that are updated further than yours to inform your character of events yours has not yet experienced? Sure.
4.) Are there triggering or upsetting topics you would like other characters to avoid mentioning to yours for the sake of continued comfort (racist words, homophobia, self-injury, etc.)? ICly, whatever you want to talk about is fine, though don't expect Remy to react with open arms to certain topics. If you would like to avoid pissing him off IC, try not to be racist, don't be a dick about non-humans, don't be sexist, don't be mean to kids, etc.
5.) Are there any additions you would like us to make to this survey? Naw.
