The glass is not half empty nor half full. It is bottomless.
You don't know what desperation is until there is no knob on the inside of your door.
The twelve days of Megmas...
12 hours of eating
11 family members
10 words with Carmine
9 relatives invading
8 hours wrapping
7 assorted giftcards
6 trash bags filled
5 cards from Hallmark
4 hours of sleep
3 new dead fish
2 novels finished
1 hamster breakout
...and the holiday is over again
All in all it wasnt bad. I got LOST and Firefly seasons 1, 3 gift cards to Best Buy, 2 to Barnes and Nobles, one to the Stamford mall, a check from Aunt Val, 22 jigsaw puzzles - JESUS - a hairdryer, a digital camera - yar - some See's lollipops, my all time favorite, 2 pairs of lovely earrings, a north face blue fleece all of my own!, and a Spike monthly calendar so I can oggle my favorite Buffy vampire in all his British and platinum glory. This would have to be the first holiday that I literally got what was on my list instead of being surprised by shit I usually give away or regive without opening. No surprises, though, but it was nice to see dad and the girls happy with the gifts we got them, and Mom her snowshoes. AS IF she'll ever freeking use the damn things.
The hamster, Fala - don't ask I don't get the name either - escaped into the walls, and then again today, on Xmas. Someday the hamster is going to vanish and we'll never see it again. What a happy day that will be. This is the ugliest hamster I've EVER laid eyes on. It looks like a midget rat with a taste for blood. I've seen cockroaches with more appeal.
