wow is all I can say. And so much was unfolded in just the last few hundred pages! I've never read a story that went for over 4500 pages before. Sweet jesus...it was amazing.
Actually the first time I read it in its entirety was just about this time last year. It was all I lived, breathed, and dreamed for a couple of months. I was torn between wanting to fly through it to get to the end, and wanting to take it slow and savor each part of it. Though I have so many other books I need to read, I'm already getting the itch to read it again. It's everything I could have ever asked for in a great story, and most of the time I found myself wishing fervently that that world was real (the reality in the book, but Otherland too would be so awesome to experience)...
If I had to choose one book/story above all else, it would definitely be Otherland. I love Tad Williams for writing it. I'd show up at his doorstep and ask him to marry me if I knew he wasn't already married--LOL. Seriously though...it's a story that really stays with you.
It's definately a series I need to read again. I'm not daunted by its size at all, and now that I understand how all the pieces fit together so much more of it will make more sense. And less sense, in a way. I kinda of enjoyed trying to fit the fragments together in my mind i my own way. Anthropomorphizing the Other and naming it myself. Daniel is a good name...

Hey KP. I'm around...just dealing with some shit. I'm in Connecticut doing somethings for myself. Ben can give you details if he decides to. It's no big secret that I'm a fucking mess but I'm working on it and there's no shame in having a problem if you do something about it. But I'll be gone for a while doing my thing so that's the straight and narrow of it.
ah xella its good to know you responded... god I want to be there with you, you have no idea how worried I have been over you.. poor roland has to deal with the emotional reprocussion of me worrying about you, I cried so hard when you told me you were in rehab, tried calling you but apprently your phone is all broken since christmas, I need an address from you, I have a bunch of things I need to send you if you are allowed to have them. I miss your voice xella, your laugh, your hugs. I just want you to be better...... I am actually saving money, one for an apartment and two to come and see you as soon as possible, I need my xella. Come out here and live with me, though I doubt it would help you fix anything. Is rehab helping? you are not allowed to be broken, thats my job
