I can go either day, and I'm willing to pick people up from the eastside if they don't mind chipping in a few dollars for gas.

I would like to say, at least to start could we begin in a place that has relatively inexpensive parking for those of us who are bringing cars? The rates in downtown can easily jump to $16+, so it would be awesome if we kept the price down for the short of cash folks. (Like me OTL)

I'm really looking forward to this!! :D I really hope we can make it to the market.

I don't think Pike Place Market is good place to meet in because from what I remember it's pretty small and stuffy, and I personally hate fish (especially their smell). xD

The Seattle Convention Center would probably be used to all kinds of cosplay events, but unless somebody makes some kind of official reserve wouldn't we be kinda interrupting another convention/conference?

Also, is there anyone going there from the Bellevue/Redmond/Kirkland area?

Yeah, the Washington State Convention Center would only be reserved for big events, and anyway the Summer Gift Show 2009 is happening that weekend . . not dentists . . ignore that bit in my earlier post. >_>

I'm up for either day. I kind of would prefer a place with air conditioning (I'm pathetic with warm weather XD), either the EMP is fine with me.

If I can get all my stuff in time, I'll be cosplaying Australia!

Aw man, looks like I can't go. (I just checked the date again) :/ I'll more than likely be in Canada that weekend for my sister's bday. :(

22nd or 23rd would be perfect, and I think that Seattle Center would be best - the fountain, the Space Needle, all sorts of excellent photo ops, plus the food court/center building and thus easy access to air conditioning and shade that we won't look too awkward just standing around in.

Just another thing to think about - at the Seattle Center there is apparently a festival going on the dates (August 22-23rd) we're thinking about meeting. It's about Tibet! Just thought it might pique our interest, considering this fandom.

My interest is piqued! That would be really interesting to see. I'd love to go to it, and learn and support, just as long as our activities weren't disturbing any of the goings-on, which I don't imagine they would be.
. . . I'm sure we'd be plenty of entertainment ourselves.

Here is more information about the event. I think we'll be okay - we might get some questions about what we're doing, but I'd think we'd get that anywhere. :D
