I've Been A Busy Little Boy

Yesterday was quite a day and I feel like I actually accomplished something.

The Tooth Of The MatterSunday I was sitting in church waiting for services to start and Igor the Younger offered to share a couple of Mike&Ikes his grandma had given him. I took one, thanked him, praised him for sharing, bit down on it and immediately wished I hadn't. Bit ( Read more... )

I know. I could understand if it were something caramel-based, but a Mike&Ike? I hadn't even started chewing it yet - it was basically first contact with the crown, and would have happened if I were eating steak or broccoli or anything else requiring pressure on that tooth.

One of the worst things that ever happened to me was when I had that molar's opposite number (same position, left side lower jaw) removed. It had a crown on it but decay had gotten up under the crown and the dentist said the tooth needed to come out. At the start of the procedure the crown popped off of its mount and straight into the back of my throat. I thought for a moment I was going to choke to death. After that having the remnant of the tooth sawed in three and stitching up my gum was a relative piece of cake.

Now I've been forced to listen to every cover of this I have. One expects Schooner Fare, Johnny Cash, or even Lorne Greene, but Rockapella and the Eels? My hard drive is a very strange place.

I'm pretty sure I knew about Rockapella, but yeah, some of the other covers are . . . strange. Unexpected. You should track down the Brave Combo version - it's on their album "Musical Varieties" which IIRC is an early "best of" compendium.

Not likely. I've already let you talk me into the Canote Brothers. They're lots of fun, but your recommendations, however excellent, tend to the expensive.
