Steve Irwin

You might all laugh at me for crying, but I dont think its funny that Steve Irwin is dead. I have always loved what he did and I have a great deal of respect for him and his efforts to conserve wildlife and educate people with the hope that others will follow his example. He was a wonderful man with an amazing soul and there are few who are so ( Read more... )

I heard that on the radio. I can't believe it. What makes it even sadder is what finally killed him. With his line of work, it's crappy to be taken out by a stingray.

*nods* and especially with your friends watching and filming it. He pulled the stinger out of his chest himself, but they say he was gone within a minute after that.

The were just saying today on the radio, he once said if he ever did die & it was caught on film or pictures, he'd want it to be released the the public. Wonder if it will. I think it will even if they don't want it to leak out.

I couldn't agree more. He was a wonderful person and a great environmentalist. He will be most sorely missed.

Ive been having a lot of debates with people who say all he did was invade the animals space and aggravate them, but I think he has done FAR more than that, just look at Australia Zoo! Not to mention thousands of children who have more intrigue than fear for things like snakes and gators. I hope his wife carries on.

I can honestly say that Steve Irwin will truly be missed from this Earth. His work, exemplified through his environmentalist actions and his TV shows will not soon be forgotten, nor will his electric attitude and personality or his love of life and all things in it.

I saw an 'In Memorium' commercial for him tonight on the Discovery channel. It was far too short to do this living legend justice.

I've seen a few on Animal Planet, but Im hoping they have something bigger in the works. He deserves it. They have the one where he's talking about what he wanted to be remembered for...still gives me a little shiver.

it sucks that he died, just like it sucks when anyone dies, but i kinda feel like it's better that he died doing what he loved, rather than being killed in a car crash or something like that
