I am thinking about taking a second job. I love my job, I respect my boss, and I do appreciate what he does for me, but right now he can only do like 33 hours a week and that's just not enough. He's growing the business and wants to give us full time but he can't

As long as they aren't in competition with him I'd tell him what you stated in your post. Many people have more than one job, if it offends him, then I'd worry about working for him log term any way.

yeah it's totally separate businesses, we are a doggy daycare and the other place is a video game shop. Thank you. That is a very good point.

That's kind of what I am thinking. I'm just so nervous to even think about upsetting a boss with the job market the way it is, but I need the extra hours to survive.
