You know, I respect you for sticking to your guns in the face of a lot of criticism. That takes guts.
You're free to believe whatever you want. However, the whole dead-horse topic of gay marriage is a rather black-and-white case of equal protection under the law, not of personal beliefs. The 14th Amendment, one of our most important, states that no US citizen shall be deprived of rights, protections and priveleges enjoyed by the rest of the citizenry. The fact that the Bible declares homosexuality a sin would be relevant only to a theological discussion, not a debate about the law. We do not deny rights and protections to people who commit other sins, like coveting your neighbor's donkey or making graven images of things in heaven above or in the earth beneath. That's because God's laws and the laws of our secular democratic republic are not one and the same

To me, personally, it's more one of those things that if I don't take responsibility for telling people God's will and about the right way to live, who will? I understand that the government shouldn't try to regulate things like this, that involve equal rights. Maybe in speaking out against it, I can reach one person.
Are you going to go see that Mel Gibson movie? Part of me is afraid to. I mean I already know what all Jesus went though and I don't know if I could actually handle seeing it portrayed so graphically. It would break my heart into a million pieces. I'd be a sobbing mess in the theater. I just read that some woman had a heart attack and died during a dramatic scene, and supposedly she had no known health conditions. :/

You forgot to mention the inherent problems with the "seperate but equal" marriage vs. civil union...
