*sigh* I never know what to label these posts. I really should be removing brains right now, but I just don't feel like it. *sigh ( Read more... )

I'm fine, just bruised and annoyed. I ran into a cop in a store minutes after this happened and he said that since I didn't have *any* description of what or who hit me and no one stopped and offered a description there was really nothing I could do. Grrrr. The bike might be fixable, we'll have to see. People in cars really don't bother to notice bikes. I always try to be hyper aware of them (both motorcycles and bicycles) for that very reason. I've lost friends because jerks weren't paying attention. And I had a doctor appointment that afternoon, and she said that from what I described happened I should have been a LOT more messed up than I was, so thank the gods for large favors, eh?

Bullshit. A hit and run is still a hit and run. Bet if I shot the cop in the ass, and no one saw a fucking thing, there'd be holy hell to pay. Don't let their laziness dishearten you. Go in and file a report. If they won't be cooperative, contact the district attorney's office. State of Illinois building at Daley Plaza is usually not too bad a place to visit this time of year, and the food places they have there aren't too bad.

BTW - howdy, stranger. If I manage to get the job on the job line tomorrow, and it lasts a while, I might road trip up to central Illinois in mid to late September. Up for a visit from that fool who promises to keep visiting but never actually does?

sure, but if you're going to central IL you won't be visiting me, so I would be very sad.... :P

Good to hear from you! Much sympathies about getting hit. Any security cameras nearby that might have caught it?

I'm kinda bummed that I wasn't able to make your b'day. The scheduling for it was just abysmal from my end. Lo siento.

Very true. Someone asked me if I'd heard from you the other day. Now I can tell them yes!

O rly? Who'd be askin' about me? Maybe I should narrow it down: Good looking woman, or a guy in a dark suit with sunglasses? The first would be nice, the second...not so much.

Erm, good looking woman in a suit? I actually don't remember who mentioned you, I just remember it came up.

OMG Sweetie, I am so glad you were able to get up and walk away from being hit by a car! Holy Shite! I can't believe someone would hit a bike and just drive away! What the Hell is wrong with people?

Umm, it's Chicago and the city is infected with the 'Who me?' syndrome. Hell, every time I *stop* to help people I get told I should've kept going cause I might've gotten killed or hurt or something.

I do have to also add that the opening line of this entry is without a doubt one of the best things I've read. Totally out of context, it'd make a great quote: "I really should be removing brains right now, but I just don't feel like it."

Well, I do have a warning on my page that I talk about work in here...... so anyone who reads it is bring it upon themselves. But yeah, I can see where that would be funny.
