It never fails to entertain me that almost every time I walk into a craft store and head back to the yarn department, I end up helping someone who is standing in front of the knitting needles and crochet hooks, looking lost. I rarely volunteer, but they just look at me and apparently think "Yes! She looks slightly deranged about yarn!" and ask away ( Read more... )

I do the same thing in book stores. Some people just look so lost and you just sense they're in their trying to find a gift for someone and have no clue what they'd want.

Now, when you say "one'ness", are we talking about something kind of metaphysical union with the underlying substance of yarn ? That would destroy civilised thought as we know it. (Oh, "primal Oneness". I shouldn't have read 'The Birth of Tragedy'.)

Or, yeah. Maybe the confidence has everything to do with it.
