make with the conversation and people will respond, even if all you are doing for a while is posting me-too's and links (and you can do better than that) the content will draw the crowd

I (leonora) stopped by chat recently after four year away. It was pretty quiet but there were a couple of familiar faces (names?) who were active. Perhaps it would be fun to set a date and time when everyone would reconvene there just like the old days? With people logging in only sporadically no conversation every gets started so people don't come back. I miss chat, too.
