Songs for Daddy- Chapter 47: Play the Game Tonight (Part 10 [Clifford's cliffhanger])

As usual, there was always dinner at a traditional Japanese steakhouse of some kind. Anezaki and Emiko had hung back at the stadium, waiting for Hiruma to finish cleaning up and talking to the press. There were dozens of questions concerning his condition, why he hadn’t played all season and where he had been the last six years.

Finally... I finally managed to catch up with this! ;A; I don't remember it being 10 parts, so it really took me a while to finish this.

I like how you handled the game! Admittedly, it was rushed at some parts and I suppose some rereading is in order to get how some of the plays went. But the emotional strains that went through the game was there, and it was fascinating. Musashi definitely fits well as a lineman, which is why I always wondered why the creators didn't give him more of a role other than a kicker. So it was good to see him play a bigger role here!

Now I'm just curious as to what Clifford is up to. I knew you were going to give him quite a part to play in this story, but I sense there's a lot more than what I think. So I'm looking forward to what's going to happen next! And of course, the issue with the doctor.

I'm not good at writing football scenes. Or rather I find them painstakingly hard to write. That's why it was rushed, because I wanted to be done with it.

Though, thankfully in Eyeshield cannon they talk about the emotional strain a lot. So I was able to work hard there to fill in for the fact I don't write football well....

And of course I had to have Musashi being super cool at some point. :)

Oh there's plenty of interesting things happening in Clifford's life. Unfortunately I probably won't get to go into nearly enough detail about them in this story, but you'll get the gist and the highlights and that'll give you enough of a taste to understand what he's got in store.

Oh yes. The doctor will get resolved soon. With blood on the walls probably.

I can understand how hard it would be to write it. Even if you ask me to actually write one of the games from the actual Eyeshield 21 canon, it would still be tricky and will not be able to capture the same magic the manga had.

But at least you did a good enough job to prove that the game had an effect on all the players, especially Hiruma. Emiko definitely played a great role in observing and being there for support too.

And that's all right about Clifford. It'd still be interesting to see what exactly is up with him! Even if it isn't much.

Damn, I'm really excited about what's going to happen with the doctor. XD

You'll have to wait a chapter because Clifford's ego demands I dedicate the next chapter to Clifford-Hiruma interactions.

But the doctor is what's coming next~
