its true, networks are the best and most common way of finding work, its true

i can get you work, but its prolly only boring office work, with temp agencies (tho they can find permanent positions too, and in different fields)

let me know, ill give you the number of my agency

yeah, you may as well gimme the number. I need anything! Plus, I shouldn't really get full time work coz I'm going back to uni. Although, I haven't got a chance in hell of finding something until the new year, so i may as well just have a fun little holiday (a no-money holiday, where I eat cat food)

The stupid job course that Stupidlink made me go to says that 86% of the current job market is hidden. Meaning that only 14% of jobs are advertised and offered to the public. People who tell me 'It's easy to find a job' can lick my hairy yellow butt!
Although that's great news on the Centrelink front...

hidden... that's insane! Although I know whe we hired for toys r us, we just put a sign up at the front door, we NEVER advertised on a website or anything. It looks like I may get payments after all because the centrelink lady sai I had good reason to leave my position. We'll see...

not to mention how much recruitment is done internally.

Many companies pull resources from sister/brother companies and the "public" never know it happened.

Good to hear you have payments. I forgot i can go on the English Dole. They pay your rent and council tax for you. I could move somewhere expensive...

hold on, i live somewhere expensive...and i live in shoebox...

when we talk about it in HR, we say that networks is your number one way of getting a job (asking your father, mother, friend, aunt if there are jobs going, puting the word out to your 'networks' that you are looking),
second is cold calling - that is printing off a gagillion copies of your resume and walking from business to business asking if you can apply
or with larger scale companies emailing them or calling them

and then there are the advertised ones.

most of my jobs have come through networks. id say 90% of them.
