Anderson Cooper: Is Obama Flip Flopping on Same Sex Marriage Issue?

On CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 Cooper explored Barack Obama's apparent flip flop on the issue of same sex marriage with his current position is "evolving". An earlier position in an interview was he was for same sex marriage.

My guess is that Obama does personally support gay marriage but politically has to run against it or ride the fence in order to get the votes of the homophobic "liberals"/centrists/independents, people like the bloc of voters who were poor, struggling minorities in 2004 but voted for Bush simply because he promised them a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage. I take his word "evolving" to be code for "Gays, please support my reelection and I'll support gay marriage again because there will be no consequences for my political career."

I don't like it, but I get it; if that's what it takes to keep the teabaggers from the White House. Other the other hand, I'm not gay so my opinion doesn't really count on this subject.
