So fucking sick of having to explain to people that my orientation is not a disorder.

Frankly it's not only insulting, it's also rather creepy that other people are so fucking obsessed with whether or not I have sex.

Out of curiosity, what is your orientation? I'd like to put this post in context.

I'm asexual.

I guessed that but didn't want to assume. I find a lot of people don't even understand what asexual means. It's hard to be patient and explain things to them again and again when you are just trying to live your life, but unfortunately the burden of educating the masses falls on those who are a little different, right?

You've every right to be frustrated though. It must get so tiring.

It does get tiring, sometimes. I try to be patient, and usually I am, but people generally take my patience as a sign to go ahead with trying to pathologize me, tell me I'm wrong/a liar, or ask dozens of highly invasive personal questions. It's not quite as bad offline as it is online, because offline people will at least try to sugarcoat things so they don't come off as blatantly rude. Online, though, people will actively go out of their way to be rude to me. I don't really understand it. It's like my lack of a sex drive is somehow offensive to them.
