Supposedly, the only real difference is the ingredient ratio. Both of them are caffeinated, both of them are zero calorie, but to my taste buds at least Coke Zero is a bit sharper and less sweet, i.e. closer to what Coke Classic tastes like. FWIW, if given a choice between Diet and Zero, I'll pick the later almost all the time.

Pretty much what Haamel said. Diet Coke tastes like diet cola. i.e. cough syrup for those people who aren't used to the taste. Coke Zero actually tastes like Coke Classic (for the most part). And I just was able to try Coke Zero for the first time recently, and I prefer it to Diet Coke now. If only the vending machine here would keep it in stock...

hm... it's starting to sound like zero uses that "sugar alcohol" bit (like xylitol/maltitol/sucralose) instead of aspertame..?
