I'm home...and I'm okay. Getting better.

Hey, there, folks. Thanks for all the well-wishes and good vibes. {{{{Y'all}}}} And especially thank you, calturner for letting everyone know. ;*

So...what happened? Sunday morning, I woke up at 8 am with a terrible pain in my torso. My tolerance for pain is very low, so I went upstairs, and in walking and climbing stairs made the pain worse. Crying worse. Mom called Steve and we all went over the the UTC (Urgent Treatment Center) to get me checked out. Poked and prodded, and a GI cocktail (which didn't do anything) later they sent me home with a prescription for hydrocodone-the highest dose they could give me from that facility, and no real answer to what was wrong. Well, joy of joys...I threw up in Steve's car on the way home. All over myself. Yuck. Mom got me into the house and she and Steve cleaned up after me and went to get my prescription. I threw up again while they were gone. In the toilet, fortunately. They returned with my painkiller, and I took the maximum. No effect whatsoever. I was still hurting a whole lot. And I threw up again. In a bowl. Mom was just beside herself, and called the doctor back, and he said to go to the ER. So...off the to ER we go. Now, for an ER, St Joseph East was pretty quick. I was in and looked at in less than an hour. I was put on an IV, and they gave me demerol. Sweet, sweet demerol. It didn't get me high, it just dulled the pain enough for me to sleep, which I was all for. More poking and prodding, blood testing (blood was okay), urine testing (there was blood in my urine!) and a CAT scan later, and yes, it's my gall bladder giving me trouble. I had several stones, but none in any ducts, fortunately. Anyhow, so I am admitted to the hospital and put in a nice room, and the nurses and aides, one and all, were just great. I'm scheduled for surgery Monday afternoon around 4 pm.

I'll continue this tomorrow.
