One thing I don't understand about Vorkosigan AUs (Alternate Universes):

Why do they enjoy turning Miles' hard-bought successes into bloody-handed failures in fic after fic after fic?

I just don't understand it.

Because some people really love angsty angstorama, and don't always know the difference between the effective and ineffective versions?

But then, I agree with kat; I am mostly allergic to fanfic...

I think it comes from that part of fandom which thinks it's "boring" when the heroes (or the people obviously being set up to be heroes) win. Because good people are boring.

I don't get it, either.

In some cases, it's because the writers are fans of Ivan-you-idiot and they want to see him get more screen time.
