BTW, since my mom seems to be rather interested in seeing the movie/borrowing the books from the library, I was wondering--has anyone read the Beautiful Creatures books?
I read most of the first one. It's an interesting story, imo, but I felt like the execution was badly done - it kept slowing down at points that should have been intense, if that makes sense (like, something interesting and plot relevant would happen, then the next scene they'd be calmly talking about, like...a high school dance or something). Basically, the pacing is weird.
I am planning on seeing the movie, mainly because of Jeremy Irons. Also because I'm hopeful the pacing issue will have been fixed for the film.
*nods* Cool; I may have a look at it if/when she borrows it, but that's good to know.
I'll probably see the movie sometime, but I don't think I'll go to the theater for it (unless Mom pays, heh.) I'll be interested to hear what you think of it, though. :)
I feel a little bad not finishing it, but as much as I wanted to know what happened, it wasn't holding my attention with the weird pacing.
My friend has free movie passes, so we're gonna wait a few weeks and go see it when we can use those (it was either that or I'd've waited til it was in the dollar theatre)
