A lot of food can come in cans nowadays. It will keep for a very long time. Years upon years even.

You should also requisition fresh produce, which can be kept in the icebox device in the kitchen. I've found it keeps food preserved quite well.

Lucy, one more thing: I strongly suggest you start screening your comments and entries from Judge Turpin. If you can, go back to some of your previously created entries and screen them as well.

The icebox was difficult for me to get used to as well, merely store the items in it. Nothing else is required, only place the fresh food in it.
