LMFAO I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN! My son knows the words to the 80's TMNT series theme song, the Ghostbusters song, and the Adam West Batman theme song. Not like that one's hard. >_> He runs around randomly yelling "TURTLE POWER" and likes to climb on my lap and demand that I "Stop that, you little cretin!" It makes my geeky mama heart melt with joy.
Oh my lord.. I never even come on LJ any more and THIS is smack dab on the front of my friends page?!? I think our two year olds could be best friends! He doesn't watch that much Teletoon Retro--though tonight he argued that Thundercats wasn't over when I wanted to switch to Glee--but he knows absolutely everything about Star Wars and also uses "pew" as a verb.
Also, you missed my favourite reason to have nerd kids... being better able to justify the purchase of nerd toys while on a budget, and then getting to play with them. (Says the mommy with a 2.5' tall AT-AT walker in her son's room... thanks, Christmas!)
Man, you don't know how much we've debated that AT-AT! I had the original when I was a kid, and it was one of my most prized possessions, ever. She has her own share of new Matty Collector He-Man and She-Ra figures, though, and I think we'll be scouring the toy and hobby show in March for an old Crystal Castle playset, or some of the horses/cats if we can find them. [We bought her a nerf Star Wars blaster, too. She's not old enough to load it, but she can point and shoot and run around pretending to shoot things with it, which is apparently just as enjoyable...]
If I hear any more info on the new Thundercats line, I'll be sure to post a link.
