Awwww, books.

Just finished The Hunger Games trilogy. Took me about a week, give or take, because my reading time is severely limited. Have to say, absolute fantastic books. I cried at least twice in each one, and obviously, at the end. As rarely as it happens this is a series that ended exactly how I wanted it to end ( Read more... )

I just finished THG trilogy a couple weeks back. I really enjoyed it and can't wait for the film. I wish epilogue had gone into a bit more detail though.

Ohhhh I just read those too, I loved them. I don't get why people seemed to dislike the third one. My theory is that they were mainly reading the books for the *love* story, but I loved the social/political/battle parts more. I loved the way it ended, it was perfect.

Have you read Ender's Game? I'm halfway through the first one right now and it's pretty awesome as well. I know people hate Orson Scott Card but the book is well written, I love the political/dystopian stuff. If I was going to break it down I'd say Hunger Games meets Starship Troopers.

Yeah, I loved the third one the most. I think people wanted her to make a decision one way and were mad that she chose 'the wrong way'. There's also a lot of 'sad' parts especially in the battle toward the end and I don't know if a lot of people are comfortable reading certain battle descriptions.

I haven't read any of Card's work, but I have friends who swear he's the greatest writer ever. I have a bunch of his stuff on my Kindle, though, so I'll probably get around to it once I finish re-reading all the George R. R. Martin books.
