Hulk Smash!

Woooo! I have to say I love how Stan Lee and Marvel are bringing comics to the big screen. And I'm getting really excited about the Avengers movie. Iron Man had Captain America's sheild in Nick's workroom and Nick appears at the end of the Hulk movie. I'm all a twitter.

Also should say that this Hulk movie was SO much better than that flop by Ang ( Read more... )

I'm actually really looking forward to the Marvel Thor movie, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

I loved Incredible Hulk and I nearly cried when Bixby showed up on that TV screen. I love Norton even more for all the little nods he did to the series.

Woot.

Oh I know, and LOU shows up too as a security guard. Also didn't they play the hitching music? Lots of nods to the series and stars of said series.

I'm really starting to enjoy and not dread seeing comics on the big screen.

Ever since Batman 2 came out with all the butt shots and nipple hugging costumes I've sort of cringed seeing my favorite heroes on the big screen. So the recent marvel universe heroes have been a nice surprise.

Don't get me wrong I loved Batman: Begins and its sequel. Both very good adaptations and much better than the campy stuff that came after Keaton had the role.

I liked a lot of comic books the publishers never mattered to me. But seems the movies coming out lately are a fun romp.

Ooooo you gotta see Incredible Hulk. I'd pass on the former one but this one is a must see.

And btw I love your icon. Only thing that could make it better is if Six was squeezed in there somewhere. Heee

Hamster: OH GOD! Not the coat thing again... ANYTHING but that

*visualizes doing naughty things in Six's coat*

Hamster: *keels over and twitches*

Get's him every time....

Comic book movies in general seem to have been on the rise. I still have high hopes for Watchmen next year as despite some deviations from the source, everything I've heard so far sounds good. And most of that came from far bigger geeks than I. I'm glad it wasn't just me who really liked The Incredible Hulk. I thought it had some awesome moments, but I feel it didn't have enough of the Jade Giant for most people. For me it was perfectly pitched. Like The Fugitive. But with Gamma Radiation. The work they're putting into crafting a Marvel Universe is awesome, and something I wish they'd done with the DC movies recently. But Superman Returns... wasn't as awesome as it could have been. And the Batman series has gone for a more crime thriller basis. Which is great and really works for the product as presented. The Dark Knight is probably my favorite film of the year, because everything about it just felt right.
My only worry is right now they're doing everything right. Sooner or later someones going to drop the ball. Big-time.

I know... I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop as well and see some campy, flimsy script come up to come ruin the action.

I still haven't seen The Dark Knight. I'm still playing catch-up on a lot of my hobbies.

Yes. Very yes.

The Bill Bixby show was my Hulk growing up, and I was geeking out all the way through that movie, right from the beginning when they re-enacted the opening sequence of the oldseries. And I know the "you are the man!" stuff with Lou Ferrigno was obvious and cheezy, but it was also wonderful and needed to be done.

And yet, they still managed to make the rest of the flick contemporary and awesome andandand Stan the Man got to drink poison soda and it was all fun and yay.

I totally agree with you there. They gave serious props to the series and were still able to maintain a seriousness to it as well.

Also, I think the setup in the recent Ironman and Incredible Hulk movies are brilliant. Keeps the public waiting to see what they'll do next.

The setup is genius, I'm way more hyped for the eventual Avengers flick than I would have been had they just come out with it in the first place. Also SAMUEL L NICK FURY OMG.

Ya I think the "prequels" if you can call them that are definitely turning my excitement knobs *hee*

I'm really impressed at the choice of actors in these as well. Very good pairings I think.
