Morality is a function of enlightened self-interest: Acting in a manner that is best for the smooth function of one's tribe rather than what is best for the individual's immediate needs. Because (in the long run) a healthy community's strength can be relied upon to protect the individual from dangers to great for the individual to combat alone ( ... )
