"Odin from Lejre? No, it's Freya!"

...and I say, why not possibly Frigga? Still, very interesting to contemplate and a beautiful piece to admire.

Here's the story for those who can read Danish: http://tinyurl.com/yjct7rd

Yeah, I did think of that story, as well. My "gut" reaction upon seeing it, though, was Freya. I just kinda wondered why Frigga didn't even seem to be considered. It is beautiful.

Ah, yes! Good points about the high seat and the necklace. Those points did actually register as I was reading the article, but my cold-addled brain lost the mention of them. That, and a bit of not wanting my natural inclination toward Geofon Freó to overly color my view. It was She, afterall, who first brought me to Heathenry.

I'd actually seen that on another list I'm on. I really was thinking Frigga but the necklace is a dead ringer for the one on the Freya statuette that we've all seen. OTOH, no one knows for sure who that is supposed to be, it's just assumed to be Freya 'cause of the necklace but that's fairly typical ornamentation for any high class female of the period. Could also be Skadi who was known to sit in that seat on occasion. Definitely female though.

And now 2 weeks later, I see this . . . sorry. Thanks for posting about it!
