Cats and Computers

At the moment there's two major things (besides the job thing) that I'm worried about - my laptop and Chloe, the cat who ended up being mine even though I didn't want a cat at first. I'll go into the story of the laptop first, mostly because it's more of an annoyance sort of thing and not as likely to upset people, and then I'll cut the part about

At the moment I've got the cord bent weirdly at the end and it seems to be working all right, so I suspect Dad was accurate in his assessment of the situation as far as the laptop goes.

Chloe didn't test positive for any of the viruses, which is good because it means we don't have to fret about Annie and it's not the fault of the outside cats. She does have a low-grade fever, so we're going to get her a shot against infection and see if that manages to do anything and go from there. If you want to ask the people at your work that would be cool - our vet's good and I know she'll have considered a lot of possibilities, but maybe there's something rare that didn't happen to occur to her or something that they'll come up with. She's about six or seven years old now - I think she was born late April of 2002, which would make her almost seven (about 44 in people years).
