I don't know about everyone else, but I've not had much LJ time lately, and skim quickly. I didn't even see (or at least, don't remember seeing) mention of the song.
Well, I listened to the preview, and liked it. But I'm not what you'd call an early adopter. I have an mp3 player, but almost everything on it came from CDs that I bought and ripped myself. I don't have an iPod, I've never bought anything from iTunes or any other digital download service. I don't have a PayPal account, and it seems strange to charge $0.09 to my credit card. And that's presuming that I was willing to sign up on their website in the first place, as I'm generally reluctant to sign up for new sites. Do you recommend their site?
In short, it's not that I don't want your song, but more that I'm a (relative) Luddite.
Thanks, that is very useful feedback. I wasn't sure if this was a reasonable or effective way to offer a song, and all of your points are quite valid.
I do like Amie Street. The idea is that the more a song is downloaded, the more it is worth. They don't actually charge your card .09, when you sign up you have the option of paying anywhere from 3 to 20 dollars for download credits. So while it really does only cost you .09, you have paid $3 ahead of time and they deduct it. Like a pay as you go phone. :)
