Yes, that's me. Mr. Herniated. Herniated disk at c7, bulging on right side, pinching the nerve which is causing the numbness and tingling in my right arm, shoulder, elbow and hand. Mostly, the numb forefinger that I've had for weeks

They don't repair themselves, per se, but they can stabilize, given time :-)

My impression of neurosurgeons, so far, is that they really don't want to cut you unless it's gotten really bad really fast, or everything else has been tried.

If they send you on for an epidural steroid injection, you'll be in fine company - both cadhla and filker0 had gone that route. Feel free to call us if you want to talk.

Uncle Bunk has something simular years ago and the surgeon fixed it...and he is doing fine....as you know!

Bummer. Do read the latest articles on back surgery and whether or not it's worth it before you make a decision, though.

Yeah, getting old sucks. Gaining wisdom is nice, but the physical breakdown bites.

Sorry to hear about this Scott but glad they found it when they did before it got even worse. I was just diagnosed with Diabetes after going for a check up for the first time ever. You are right, getting old sucks :-P We both send you hugs and best wishes.
