The OTW news recently pointed to an article about Geek Nation Tours, a US-based tour group operator which specialises in fan-themed travel. This had me rather excited as we are currently planning a trip to North America and I love to travel with fannish associations in mind, so I had a look at some of their upcoming tours. I am interested in the actors only in so far as they can give me insight into the characters. My focus is very definitely on the characters.

Actors are all well and good, but if I were meeting anyone from a show I was a fan of, I'd want the writers.

But yeah, an SPN themed trip for me would be a roadtrip through exciting parts of America related to SPN Important Events. And eating weird food from the show.

Yes... I'd be assuming the _feel_ of the show, rather than the actors... I can maybe see the appeal of the studio, in the sense of how it's made.... but yes... the road trip through small town America sounds much cooler:-)

I can think of at least one person on your FL who might be interested in supernatural tours!

I would be OK with meeting the actors, if they were of a thoughtful sort. For good acting, some of themselves goes into the character. Having said that, I am often more interested in the locations. As a Jane Austen fan-girl, I love Bath of course :-)

I would much rather go on your version of the tour, actors are awesome, but in the end they are just another element of the story telling.
