I've got to say, I'm getting a teensy bit worried. You're right that this was a solid episode, probably the best of this season (half-season? Semi-season?) so far. But it really hasn't risen above that even slightly, and to be honest, I was a little bored. We seem to be missing that daft, madcap joy that made Doctor Who what it was. To be honest, I'm starting to miss RTD-era Doctor Who. Moffat was great with the one-offs, but I don't really think I like him as much as a show-runner. I'm loving Clara, but I have no idea what's going on with her, and sadly, I have a feeling it will be absurdly complex. I feel like the plots are getting a bit /too/ labyrinthine. RTD's explanations were always a little on the simple side - Mr Saxon was the Master in disguise! Wilf will literally knock on a door! - but I'm starting to think they were better than what we're getting now. I still can't explain what was going on in S5.
