It's been quite a few days since I've updated my journal, so I will be a nice guy and Cut it :p
Thursday evening's trip to Hattiesburg wasn't too bad. Traffic was a bit annoying around Jackson (as usual), but that was about it. I got there around 9:30pm with my Santa hat on and a bundle of presents.
Friday we just sat around and visited (me, mom, Ed, Helen, Sam, Mary, and the babies). Friday night, after everyone went to bed, I went to Sam's office and hooked my computer to his cable internet connection. EQ2 on a fast connection just plain rocks and was the best Christmas present I could have gotten :)
Saturday we opened presents and had a nice time. We ate later that day and I reeeeeeally overdid it. Damnation I ate a ton! A nice 5-hour nap later, I visited with the family a bit more, then went back to play more EQ2 once they turned in.
Sunday we watched a couple of ballgames, then I rode the 4-wheeler down to the river. When I got back I took a nap so I could be rested up for the night-time trek home (I wanted to avoid the holiday traffic). I picked up my stuff from Sam's office around 2am, made a quick run-through at Wal-Mart to buy Dora Mae a new car cover (Leslie and I agreed to buy her one since her old one tore and neither of us know if she could afford a new one), then got on the road. I finally got home and unpacked around 5am Monday morning then slept til 2pm.
I was worthless Monday. Completely worthless.
Yesterday I came in, busted ass on calls, then got home at a decent time (for a change). Uncle Billy had called with computer problems, so I stopped by there to give it a look. 1 long beep, 2 short when booting up. That's not good. That's generally indicative of a bad video card, but the video is integrated onto the motherboard. Ugh. I will try an old video card of mine and see what happens. If it works, great. If it doesn't, that means I will have to install a new motherboard or they will have to buy a new computer.
After I got home from Uncle Billy's, Ashly called. Her new hubby was out with some friends, so she and a few of hers were at a bar in Columbia and wanted me to come meet them.
While there this old woman walked up to myself and the two guys I was talking to then began telling this "funny" story. The story was basically that she went into her grand-daughter's room the other day only to find some black man with a butcher knife there instead.
???????
What the bleeding hell is so funny about finding some armed stranger in your home? I had seen this type of thing before, she was trolling for some "male companionship". While I may be single, I am not looking to "service" the AARP crowd, so I began eeeeasing away. Thankfully I was able to escape before she turned her attentions toward me.
*shiver*
oceanfantasy and I went to O'Charley's for lunch today and were waited on by a very cute gal. She was so friendly and cute that I did something very unlike me, I left my name and cell number on the receipt. She probably will not call, but sometimes you just have to be Caesar and say, "Carpe Diem".
