Every new arrival keeps asking the same questions and making the same statement about 'talking lions'. I suppose most of us would agree it is getting slightly repetitive, if not incredibly tiring.
So I have taken the time to make a list of matters to expect here. You should be thankful, as I could just as easily leave you in the dark.
01. You are in Wonderland. This may or may not be the same Wonderland from a story called 'Alice in Wonderland', though you might want to refrain from asking me. I have only heard rumors myself. Also, no one knows its location. I only know that it defies common logic.
02. This mansion houses an infinite amount of rooms. You are free to claim an unoccupied room as your own. As far as I know, there is no "rent" whatever that might be. Also, the mansion will provide food and other matters for its residents. The kitchen or dining room will provide meals, while the closet will provide other typical human items. There is also a library and a garden (while the latter houses man-eating plants).
03. This mansion appears to draw in various people from different worlds. Because of this, you will encounter a variety of different creatures among its residents. These include but are not limited to humans, vampires, demons, faeries and apparently even Gods and demons. I am positive the religious fanatics around here will have a field day during their stay.
04. The residents also include talking animals. Please refrain from inquiring, as the matter is getting old incredibly fast.
05. Some of its residents may be from your own world. If there aren't any, they might show up sooner or later.
06. Additionally, people are taken from different 'timelines'. Someone you know might remember something that has happened, while you don't. Of course, such a thing could also be the other way around. Also, rumor has it there appear to be various versions of one world. One might remember you, while you don't know him or her.
07. It is entirely possible for the dead to appear here. Yet, this is no afterlife, as there are still people supposedly 'alive'.
08. No one knows why we are here. There are theories, but their truth has yet to be proved. No one knows how we arrived here in the first place, either.
09. During your stay, you will experience what we call 'events' or 'trials'. These events seem to be triggered by the mansion itself. Depending on the nature of these events the mansion, its residents or both will be affected. The aforementioned nature varies greatly; sometimes you will find yourself doing something you wouldn't do normally, while another time your age will be reversed or you will be changed into an(other) animal, or the mansion will merely change scenery. These events are usually announced by the Duchess and usually last a day (though some of them have lasted longer). I suppose you will see for yourself in due time.
10. There is no known way of escape. There is nothing within the woods, approaching the fences is impossible and swimming will only result in drowning. Whether there is a way to escape or not, don't expect to go back anytime soon.
11. Residents come and go all the time. Perhaps those that have disappeared have been lucky, who knows? If there is a way to escape at all, it will be difficult to find it. Perhaps it is the mansion's doing.
12. Regardless, some of the disappeared residents may return sooner or later. Sometimes they will remember their previous stay in here, sometimes they won't. It isn't known whether it's their own choice to leave or not.
13. It is possible to die within here. If you were unfortunate enough to die, you will be revived after a day or so. However, after five deaths the returning victim has something of importance taken from them. It is something that makes them who they are, and the unfortunate person will be forever changed. This limit has only been discovered recently.
14. Due to some idiocy it seems I have to point this out; please refrain from converting others to your religion, beliefs, habits or other irrelevant things from your world. Unless you'd like to be incredibly irritating, of course, but I am sure most resident have fitting solutions to such behavior.
15. Apparently, there is another version of the mansion. It exists beyond the mirrors, where the Queen of Hearts resides. She appears to be the closest person to a ruler around here, and claims to be doing what's best for the mansion. From what I've heard she's watching us through these mirrors, hence that evere single one has been broken.
And if the idea of being watched hasn't been enough just yet, the Queen of Hearts is not alone in that mirrored world of hers. It would seem there is a mirrored version of the entire mansion's population on the other side. And before some of you begin to complain, a certain incident with 'mirrored people' is able to back this claim up.
Now that I have taken the time and energy to point all these little matters out, please refrain from asking? It would spare us both of our time and irritation.
Will be updated as more becomes known about this place.
