All I can say is your mom didn’t have the time to form an attachment to sweet little LaurieAnn like she did Mitchell. In 35 more years she won’t remember when he died either. Your peace of mind cannot afford for you to have expectations that your mom will change.

I’m trying to learn that very thing. It’s something I am working on in counseling. My head knows it, but my heart is having a hard time with it.
