I'm a bit concerned about that bit about closing the community: I just recently discovered that in my industrial society shoes are still optional. I *have* to wear them at work due to the many injury hazards there, but I'm intrigued about the idea of ditching shoes elsewhere in my life. I would love it if there was an active community in LJ to stay connected with others who can survive without the shoes.

I just joined, and shall hope that the community continues...
