Why do apple slices taste better than taking a bite out of a whole apple?

Because with an apple slice, it's the good, juicy inside that you taste rather than the apple skin.

(though, taking a bite from an apple that you JUST picked off a tree is pretty damned good, too)

I never noticed this until you pointed it out, but I do agree. Slices are yummier. Maybe because it is easier to pair them with cheese or walnuts or something.
