Istanbul has this street "Istaliak Cad". It's clubbing and bar central. Picture a hill that has streets raiating out of it going down. This one is a decently wide street all cobbled stoned with gorgeous buildings, no cars and it stretches so soooooooooooooo far. and the side streets each are lined with every kind of club or bar you could imagine. Flight was good. Got off the plane and headed for the metro to bring me into town when the guy wouldn't accept Euros so I had to go through airport security ...again! So I leave for Istanbul in under 40 hours. Am I excited...you bet! My swank new backpack has been lying all alone in my closet just itching for a new trip. But surprisingly I'm looking more forward to getting back...so I can start the 11 week countdown till the end of the year. My shoulder is getting better! Seems as though I'm a new fan pf physio therapy. I was told to heat the shoulder (hot water) and then ice. Go back and forth for 5 times...2 min at a time. Last time I played I hah no pain when I was going up to make a glove save. Didn't matter cause we got shelled...8-4. Shots were 64-16 in favour of the other guys. ( Read more... )

K first the good news. That book has turned classroom mangement into a well oiled machine. Day 2 and I have not had to raise my voice once...not even close. Yes it's only day 2...but I'm very consistent with my new methods and my kids are overall...respnding a lot quicker than I expected. Ahhh that little vent felt good. I definately needed it. I also feel much better after doing a read-a-thon with this new book I got on classroom management. It helped clear up a lot of things and it actually explained why strong willed kids like student X act the way they do. I swear I hate this kid. Today I told a few students in my class they had to use their own orignal ideas for characters and settings in their stories. One girl tries to arge with me.
