I was thinking about DC's stipulation with the Marston estate concerning Wonder Woman, and how the desire to see her being treated with respect has hindered her appearance in other media. She's been in cartoons like Superfriends and Justice League/JLU, but she's never starred in her own cartoon

But on a serious note, I don't know how much exposure WW would have gotten in the 40's through the 60's. Times were still pretty misogynistic back then. The public would probably not be as accepting of a female superhero as they were as a male superhero. I don't know though, this is just my $0.02.

I think DC at least tried to give WW some exposure in that era. She was created as a character girls would want to read, thus expanding the number of buyers they would have. Dunno if she had lunch boxes and action figures like Superman and Batman had though.
