I've never seen a place more tense. It's all my immature, gossip-mongering manager's fault. We used to be a family, now everyone is at each others' throats

My SM is out on maternity leave, for 2 weeks we only had an SM come in and do the schedule and process payroll, all of our strong shift just transferred or stepped down and they're all the openers.
And on top of that for some odd reason half the SM's in my district were all out for vacation or something at the same time so the ones who were working were dealing with 3 stores at once.
Long story short, anarchy total and complete anarchy. I want structure back. :(
We had a shift quit because of pregnancy related health issues and another one promote right before our SM went on vacation for 18 days earlier this month, leaving me and one shift to run a 40k/week drive-thru alone. We had a couple borrowed key holders but mostly worked 9-10 hour days since there was no mid-shift. Ugh.
That is rough! Good luck with Pastor Barista. I have worked with a few of those and they always drive me up the wall. I hope your new hire can deal with her and that there isn't any gender drama at the store. Gender drama is upsetting and awful. :(
If the transgender man is verbally abused in any way, he or a partner can report it to business conduct. There are rules and regulations when someone is transitioning, or declares they are transgender and if she so much as misses a pronoun her pastoral balls will be nailed to the cross. Respect and dignity say she can keep her lectures dignified or to herself. It is called harassment. Tell her to look it up. You do NOT have to put up with it. I am Christian and it really pisses me off when anyone of any spirituality or lack of shoves their beliefs down other peoples throats. Someone will have a come-to-jesus talk with her if she is reported for any of the above you mentioned. Be as specific as possible so she can't weasel her way out of it. NOT OKAY.
Well....I was prepared to go to the wall to make sure that said young new hire was treated with respect and dignity, but it's all moot after today. He up and left in the middle of the Sunday morning rush today. We probably won't see him again. I am certain that it had more to do with the stress of the job than any personal abuse, or at least I hope so. I'm sorry to see him go, he seemed like a good fit, and had a good work ethic.
Still stands for the rest of you. You all deserve more than a bully as a teammate. She obviously doesn't have enough to do if she finds time and energy to "keep you all In moral line"

but I do NOT tolerate that bullshit. She needs to keep her lectures to herself.
