The 'Net, The Body Politic, and Me

I finally got my backwards-compatible PlayStation 3 this week.  It only took roughly 15 days to get to me from Newfoundland.  Note to self: buying a PS2 AND a PS3 saves time, effort, and probably costs about the same.  I also bought a new game for it: Warhawk.  Now, I knew it was a game you could play online if you wanted.  Problem was, I didn't ( Read more... )

I'm actually liking the fact that the GOP has a foothold again. Like so many before me have said, this means that they can't simply cover their ears, close their eyes and say, "NO! NO! NO! We don't like it!" If they don't, they'll have other issues to contend with in '10 and '12 besides a party that is perceived by a good part of their own party as backwards and not up with the times, a chairman that is seen as not in-stride with the party and quite raucous (possibly the Joe Biden of the GOP), and (if they play their cards right) a democratic party that is willing to fully engage and debate the issues rather than saying, "nyah, nyah, I'll just do it anyway!" Of course, this has it's own negative consequences but, as they say, it's good to be on top. We may not get a bill that will cover the majority of people or that is as socially fair as the currently proposed bill, but we will get one that is functionally capable and, more importantly, implemented. Carrying on the precedent set by zeppelin . . .

THANK you for being the one other person on the planet (other than me) who doesn't want internet on their cell, have a myspace page, or Tweets! Actually, I don't even have a Facebook account anymore and one of my MI friends is annoyed with me because the only way I keep people posted on my life is via LJ, which she claims is antique. *sigh, end of mini-rant*

Awww, and Facebook just cried a little because of that. No making Facebook cry! Everytime you make the Facebook cry, God kills something cute. Like a bunny, or Emma Stone. Ok, that went off the beaten path, butanyway!!

I literally see no point to having my phone do more than my PC can do. It makes no sense at all. Pictures are nice, movies, enh. Internet...just why?? I need not be connected at all times, that would just get boring after a while. Granted, reading online comics while I'm bored is nice, but those can only last for so long.
