Various things on the mind/brain these last few weeks, sports fans!  Think you can keep up?  Because this is the no segue entry right here!!

Last night was the first night I have ever gone to be feeling depressed since I moved out here.  Primarily because this past week was the first time that I have ever been financially pummeled by unemployment.  ( Read more... )

I hope the housing thing works out for you guys. I really do. Also I get the applying thing. It sucks.

And I enjoy my right to free speech. Christine O'Donnell rather frightens me. lol

And also I think you used the wrong accept when you italicized. I do believe you meant "except" :)

Good luck with buying a home! My husband and I bought our house about a year and a half ago, and it's quite the process. Looking is one of the best parts- try not to get ahead of yourself and make sure that you're making an offer on something you really want.

This question might be a bit personal, but have you talked to mortgage brokers yet to get pre-approved? Ethan and I have amazing credit, but we still had to get pre-approved before making offers. We had to provide paystubs and bank statements, and all sorts of other stuff, proving we could afford the payments.

For us, looking has been hell. all we can afford are foreclosures or short sales. Short sales will not work since they can take about 6 months to go through. Foreclosures are sometimes painful to look at. Half the time they are in shambles because of the damage done to the place, or they JUST went into foreclosure and we can't touch them for 6 months (That took one of my favorite houses off the list, and I was very miffed about that).

As for mortgage brokers? Yeah, they laughed at us. None of us have a high enough income-to-debt ratio, and our combine credit scores got us laughed at by Chase Bank. hence why my parents are trying to get the loan for us.
