damn, i've only been gone for a week and the country's already falling apart without me. in fact it was only 2 days ago i was telling somebody about how gay-friendly australia is, what with the whole oxford street scene in sydney and the mardi gras and so on. guess howard proved me a liar.
and not only that honey but LATHAM supported it. luckily many COPIOUS including ALP members stood up against the whole Act. BUT how fucked is this country sometimes. despite our luckiness and all that bullshit. oh! guess what! miriam from that something about miriam show is going to be an intruder on big brother as "maria". but i suppose big brother, with it's majority youth audience, has always been gay friendly. but the football guy, who is presently real popular, is tipped to work-it with 'maria'. oh! and some of those blonde boys too. i REALLY hope so. off the topic but i'm rambling...happy holiday!! xox
I dont ususally write letters to MPs (well, never) but that has motivated me to! Mr Latham will be getting my copy of that letter in the mail hopefully in a few days! I have to say all of this campaign to get homophibic prick vote is horribly offensive, but not very suprising. I constantly seem to forget that we live in a country best know for it's human rights abuses and racism haha. I remember I used to be pen pals with this Argentinian girl who expalained to me that Australia is seen in the same light as somewhere like South Africa...
it's so incredible. we think we're so progressive and then something like this happens. what did your argentinian pen pal hear about australia? when i was travelled round the US in 1997 everyone associated australia with thredbo, despite it being six months later. i have NO idea what media laws exist in argentina...sorry im brain dead from school, do we know one another from adelaide? bye!
