It's sweeneybird's fault. I sent her an email to bitch about the proliferation of SG:A stories that reduce McKay to a quivering pile of sobbing, unmanly goo after 2 hours of solitary confinement... or a paper cut.
sweeneybird replied, "What is it with scientists and their tiny, tiny tears?" which I found really funny and then I found myself writing a SG:A badfic

Oh gawd, I so needed this after encountering several badfics last night. Its like this visceral gut reaction whenever Im reading a story that has Rodney crying like a baby, it hurts so much I can't read it. This fic had me sputtering all over my keyboard and screen bcse it has every cringe worthy thing i've seen in bad fic but you've made it funny instead of painful.

Oh, and thanks for reccing badass in control of Rodney fic. The thing is, I can see Rodney being more of a control freak that a whiny baby. Rodney can be overwhelming esp. I believe with Elizabeth out of the picture. I don't understand why these badfic writer always write Rodney crying. Rodney is a strong character in a way completely different from John. John is the hero but Rodney is the one pulling off the crazy plans that save their asses. I wonder if these writers are incapable of writing two strong men in a relationship withour making one into a crying girly girl.
