so sorry for you. Alcoholics are one of the most pathetic people there are, ... I had one in the family as well. joined the AA and got 'better', in a sense that he became very boring, and depressed,... but he never drank again.
Only a pity of the time you spent on people that are not worth it.
Hope you're doing allright now, you seem to have a great deal of self-knowledge.

Thanks for your comments. I am doing just fine now because I have a good marriage with a man who can tell me the truth. I've been in therapy forever and it has helped me tremendously.

Man, you've had your string of bad luck with worthless people. I'm so happy for you that you now have a wonderful husband, are in a loving relationship and the past can be the past.
