I found the body of the swallow I had rescued the other day. It was tangled in a giant mint plant that we have where I had previously looked, but obviously not well enough...bummer.

I don't know. We've been asking that same question and I can only think it is somehow to prepare us for Poesie's inevitable last day...

We once had a problem with birds flying in through the chimney, and one of the birds got tangled up in a wicker chair. We heard it rustling around, and got it loose.

good thing you got it loose. I found a parakeet hopping around our backyard a few years ago and finally caught it. A few minutes later, a neighbor was crawling through the bushes and asked if we had seen his bird anywhere...of course I just handed it to him!
