Week 6 Blog Question:

Part 1: Reflection

I am relieved to read that the mid-term essay wasn't a piece of cake for you either. Im not sure how many times I had to reread the essay but it seemed like way too many. I found the discussions really helpful because it's like a class - lots of people to bounce ideas off of. That wouldn't been useful when I was working on my "Dresses" essay.

I find the discussions and blogs help me develop my ideas too, and I found I had to read "Dresses" a few extra times to form my ideas without the class help.

I also really enjoy the discussions. They provide so much more than when I have to read and read and read by myself! I seem to follow my same ideas over and over and really enjoy other people's insights. They definitely help me develop my own.

I reread my essay over and over again to the point where I felt I couldn't add anymore to get my point across any more clearer than what I had wrote. It took a lot of time and that is what I fear for the final. not having enough time to expand on my ideas.

I agree, the final paper is starting to sound a bit intimidating. But im sure we will be fine! lol Just take a deep breathe and take it slow. I find that when I read, I try to read it one paragraph at a time, and write down notes on things that stand out for me or that could lead to hidden meanings. Good luck!

thanks for your advice! I've actually printed the Oedipus reading out and will be making notes on anything that stands out for me. I'll definitely be using sparks notes online and any tips debbie provides. this is the site i'm using: http://www.sparknotes.com/drama/oedipus/section1.rhtml
