Good point on the lightness of how the poem was written in contrast to how heavy the topic was. I completely agree with you!

You've made some good points here. I like the way you are bringing specific examples in to support your general statements. Be careful with terminology. "High" tone is usually used to refer to rather more "fancy" or serious language or diction, such as might be used in a church, so I was a bit confused by your use of the term (though I get what you meant).
