More than once I've been hit harder by deaths than I was expecting. You think: 'What's wrong with me?' then you realise you're mourning.

I'm very sorry about your grandfather, honey. I no longer have any of grandparents. I never knew my paternal grandfather, who died three years before I was born. I lost my other grandpa when I was 11. I really cherish my memories of him. I wish I could have interacted with him as an adult. He was a pretty cool guy.

Thanks guys. I only have one real grandparent left now, and that's my grandmother. I hope to be able to make more of an effort to keep in touch with her.

I have a set day every month when I write my remaining grandma a letter and send her pics of the kids. That way I know that whenever she dies, she'll have heard from me within the past month.
