I did, I just have to figure out how to add it to my daily reading (really, I should have an RSS feed-thingie is that right?) Also, you've inspired me - am totally thinking about firing up Strong Women and Whiskey again as a farm/parenting/foodie/knitting sort of thing.... I need to figure out my philosphy aside from "making stuff" which pretty much my drive.

I need a Carlie Evening with sushi and drinks!!

i use google reader... it can handle just about everything except LJ (or anything you need to sign into or approve being of age).

SW&W is awesome and you should start it back up :)

sushi and drinks... *nodsnods* now to figure it all out, since the boy keeps telling me about all the people we need to have over for sushi, not to mention all the lasagnas and whole wheat burger buns and soups he wants me to make. little red hen, much? (sorry... not your problem... i really need to talk to him about it :-P)
maybe i should just set up a schedule right now, of all the sushi days for the year, and starting filling in the guest lists, since i'm pretty picky about which couples to pair :)

Thanks for the light :) You, artist lady, are the Real Deal though. :)

But maybe you'll understand where the thinking gets convoluted: a lot of the things I make .... I would probably make anyway. If anything gifting gives me an excuse to really throw myself into a project. So I feel a little guily. I mean, I tend to personalize the making, yes, but say, I want to make Stone Fruit Brandy. We dont' drink much, so of course I'll give it away... only before embarking on the project I have to have a recipient (or six) in mind.

Or as I work on something I'll get inspired as to who might enjoy it and sort of tailor it in that direction.

I guess, becuase I don't have any real training in anything I do (cooking, novice knitter, crafty bits) I always end up feeling like a that kid making a lopsided craft-dough ashtray for her parents.... :P
