I feel like my life is turned upside down with my kitchen being torn up....but in reality its not. I just needed to focus on a different area of my house....so I went up to the master bathroom and cleaned out the drawers and cleared off the counter. Made me feel much better ( Read more... )

We redid our kitchen a couple of years ago. Stripped off the wallpaper, and painted; stripped off the dark stain on our kitchen cabinets and painted them; put new countertops and a new floor down, and replaced our old stove with a new glass top one. Well, we didn't do the work, except for moving everything out, but we hired it done. Anyway, for two weeks, we had to eat out. I love to eat out, but I was so sick of it before the two weeks was up. We had eaten at every place in town at least one time, and some of them two or three times. But I'm very happy I had it done. It looks so much better. Now I need to do my den. I'm thinking of having the paneling painted and putting down new flooring.
But I have to pick colors, etc., and that's a lot of hard work for me. I'm not the most creative person.

Yes, it is fun when its all over!:) I do like picking things out but it can be confusing at the same time. We put in the new appliances last year, and painted the cabinetry a few years ago (now they need a touch-up). Floors were also a few years ago, and now its time for the counter. We're putting in granite. I cannot wait!

The rest of our house is going to look shabby...time to repaint and freshen up. Its always something!

I like being an adult. Because it is so much easier to relate to you and dad now. There is no more teenage drama or struggle for independance. Now we can be more like friends!

And I can't wait to see you and dad as grandparents. I think you guys will be great and I just hpoe we can see you as often as possible. I know it isn't easy being apart in a time like this (especially or me!) But Grandma and Grandpa lived far and we still saw them a lot!

Thanks honey! Yes, G & G lived far away, but I drove you kids up there every summer to make sure you knew them. You won't have that luxury, being so far away. Mine was only a 15 hr. drive. But we'll just have to figure something out!!!

But I am saying I will make an effort to help you see my kids. Even if it means flying to CA every summer :)
